Why We Do What We Do!

The Carter County Car Club was founded in 1982 when McDonald's hosted a "Happy Days" program and invited 50"s and 60's car owners to participate. After that event an ad was placed in the paper asking that if anyone was interested in forming a club to please call. Eight people showed up for the charter meeting at a local steakhouse. The membership since that original meeting has grown into a much larger number of classic car lovers. The members met for several years at the Carter County Rescue Squad building. We have a weekly Cruise-In every Saturday April through October and a yearly "All Day Show" the second Saturday in July to help raise money for local children's charities.

The effort by the members of the Carter County Car Club has not stopped serving our community for over 30 years. Some may ask, what is the bottom line of the club? Charity...plain and simple, christian charity, supporting local East Tennessee needs. Per the club charter, we donate each year to the charities that support the children of East Tennessee.

Below are some of the organizations we support:

  • Salvation Army Christmas Angel Tree Program
  • Friends Downs Syndrome Program
  • Dolly Parton Imagination Library
